Description

This traditional Chinese herbal medicine is effective for persistent, difficult-to-expectorate coughs and dryness in the throat. The moistening action of Maimendong (Ophiopogon root) and rice provides relief by soothing the throat and suppressing cough. Powder type.

Directions
Take with water or warm water before or between meals (between meals means 2–3 hours after eating):

Adults (15 years and older): 1 packet (2.0 g), 3 times daily

7–15 years: 2/3 packet (1.3 g), 3 times daily

4–7 years: 1/2 packet (1.0 g), 3 times daily

2–4 years: 1/3 packet (0.7 g), 3 times daily

Under 2 years: 1/4 packet (0.5 g or less), 3 times daily

Follow dosage instructions strictly. Administer to children only under parental supervision. For infants under 1 year, give only if unavoidable and under medical guidance.

Precautions

Do not use in infants under 3 months.

Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are under medical treatment, pregnant, elderly, have watery phlegm, swelling, or have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, heart disease, or kidney disease.

Stop use and consult a doctor if you experience loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, rash, jaundice, or muscle weakness. Rare but serious side effects such as interstitial pneumonia, pseudoaldosteronism, myopathy, or liver dysfunction may occur.

If symptoms do not improve after 1 month (or 1 week for dry cough), discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Do not use continuously long-term without consulting a healthcare professional.

Ingredients
Per 3 packets (6.0 g):

Ophiopogon root (Maimendong) 5.0 g

Pinellia tuber 2.5 g

Rice 2.5 g

Jujube (Zao) 1.5 g

Ginseng 1.0 g

Licorice root 1.0 g

This yields 4.0 g of Maimendong Tang extract.

Additives: magnesium metasilicate aluminate, hypromellose, lactose, potato starch, flavoring.
