The founder, Masajiro Momotani, was born in the Kanei era (1642) and was the young master of a family business that had been dealing with pharmaceuticals for generations in the Kishu and Powder River area. Since his beloved wife was suffering from acne, Masajiro Momotani created “Acne Beauty Water,” which was the company’s origin. Today, under the trademark of “Beauty,” the nationally known “Acne Beauty Lotion,” now known as “Akebono Beauty Lotion,” has become a popular product.
